On Sunday April 18th around 6:30pm the WBFD was dispatched to the area of Fritztown Road and Mail Route Road in South Heidelberg Township for a brush fire. As crews arrived it was determined the incident was just over the township line in the 100 block of Mail Route Road, Spring Township. Rescue Engine 18, Engine 18-1, Engine 18-2, Utility 18-2, and Tanker 18 responded to assist the Spring Township Fire Rescue Services with the brush fire. WBFD crews were on scene for approximately 1.5 hours assisting in fire suppression, water supply, and overhaul before being returned.
