Originally the Citizens Hose Co. No. 1 of Wernersville, the Western Berks Fire Department Station 1 is located at 111 Stitzer Ave. In Wernersville Borough. This station currently houses Engine 18-1, Rescue 18, and Tanker 18.
The department was organized and placed “in-service” on August 8, 2009, designated as Berks County Company 18, when the four legacy departments from four separate municipalities were consolidated into one comprehensive department.
