Yesterday our UAS (drone) resource assisted the West Reading Borough Police Department during the 28th Annual Art on the Avenue festival in West Reading. The UAS was utilized to provide situational awareness during the event, and on hand in case of an emergency. During the event we were able to successfully locate two young children who had been seperated from their family. Utilizing an overhead approach with the drone allowed us to quickly scan the large crowds and make a positive identification. The location was relayed to officers on the ground and within a few short minutes the children were reunited with their family. We were released from our the event after spending approximately 5 hours in the air monitoring the event. #teamWBFD ... See MoreSee Less
