In July of 2021 “Drone 18” was placed in service as part of a grant funded project with the goal to provide first responders an additional “tool” to support operations at large scale high risk incidents.
The WBFD operates a DJI Matrice 300 which offers optical zoom and thermal camera capabilities. The drone can be used to assist at search details, structure fires, hazardous materials incidents, and much more.
